Committee Introduction

The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is at the heart of the UN system to advance the three dimensions of sustainable development: economic, social and environmental. Alongside economic, social and environmental matters; ECOSOC also focuses on health, human rights and fundamental freedoms. The agenda item of ECOSOC is “Youth Employment and the Future of Work in the AI-Driven Economy”. Delegates are expected to demonstrate knowledge of how AI and automation affect jobs, the youth angle and regional variations. Delegates of ECOSOC should propose concrete solutions such as reskilling programs, education and training, global cooperation, ethical AI and employment protection, entrepreneurship support.
